Chrissy Teigen's beauty evolution, from Sports Illustrated model to cookbook author and Twitter queen
It’s hard to remember a time when Chrissy Teigen wasn’t a household name. From spouting off perfect clapbacks on Twitter to making jokes about her husband John Legend on Instagram to whipping up delicious recipes for her cookbooks, nothing seems to be slowing her down. But aside from her ever-changing career, her look has also transformed.
Over the years, Teigen has tried blunt bangs and ombré hair, and her makeup style has ranged from fresh-faced to expertly contoured. Of course, she remains fabulous no matter what look she rocks, and some parts of her look have stayed the same: like her glowy skin, rosy cheeks, and glossy lips, which have clearly inspired her makeup collections with Becca Cosmetics.
In celebration of Teigen’s 33rd birthday, let’s take a walk down memory lane to see her beauty and style transformations.
At John Legend’s birthday party, Teigen was by her now-husband’s side. She had fresh-faced makeup (with a slight smoky eye) and wore her long hair in loose waves.
At the 2009 Oscars, Teigen changed things up a bit with her bronzy, glowy makeup. She also colored her hair a lighter brown and added some highlights to it.
Teigen attended the NAACP Image Awards in 2010 with voluminous hair, rose-colored blush, baby pink lipstick, and a cat-eye.
At the Project Sunshine event, Teigen went for a more glam look. She went heavy on the blush, and added dark eyeliner and a glossy pink lip.
Just a couple of months later, Teigen lightened up her hair a lot with golden highlights. She also kept her makeup natural, playing up only her eyes.
A month later, the supermodel brought the heat to the Producers Guild Awards. She went ultra-glam with a bronzy, smoky eye, nude lipstick, and matte foundation. She also took the plunge with trendy ombré hair.
By October of that year, Teigen’s hair was fall-ready with a few caramel highlights.
This look is one of the more dramatic hair changes Teigen has gone for. She wore blunt, straight bangs and an updo. The supermodel also rocked a smoky eye.
In October, Teigen had sleek, straight hair with her bangs parted to the side. She went for a glowy makeup look with a heavy contour, smoky eye, and a peachy, nude lipstick.
Teigen tried something new when she attended the 2013 Espy Awards. She wore a deep side part with a cute braid.
By the end of the year, Teigen got golden highlights and a major chop, bringing her hair a little past her shoulders. At this event, she also went with a bolder makeup look.
By May, the supermodel brought her straight bangs back. This time, instead of wearing an updo, she straightened the rest of her hair and left it down.
When Teigen celebrated the New Year in Times Square, her bangs had grown out and she rocked a middle part. She had loose waves and fresh-faced makeup.
This is one of Teigen’s biggest beauty changes—she traded her short hair for a choppier look. She also had styled it with tighter curls than ever before. Aside from her major hair change, she also threw on a bold plum lipstick, which was a departure from her typical minimal makeup.
Cradling her baby bump (hi, Luna!), Teigen continued her bold makeup look with a rich red lip and cat-eye. She also rocked a gorgeous braided updo.
At a Target event, Teigen had a gorgeous sun-kissed glow with glossy lips and highlight. She elevated her look with a sleek ‘do.
Just a month later, Teigen changed things up a bit with a bright, red-orange lipstick and an ombré hairstyle.
With feathery bangs and a high bun, Teigen kept her makeup neutral with a nude lip and brown-toned eyeshadow.
In early 2018, Teigen went for pink cheeks, mauve lips, and bold brows, along with loose caramel waves.
At the 2018 Glamour Woman of the Year event (where she received an award), Teigen wore her hair in loose waves and kept her makeup natural and glowy.
