The most beautiful thing happens when it rains on these Boston sidewalks

To many people, the sight of falling rain is already a breathtaking thing to witness. In Boston, residents are taking it up a notch with a good-hearted prank taking place on the city’s streets. Poems have recently been painted on sidewalks, but instead of regular street art, the poems become visible only during rain.

According to the Daily Intelligencer, the project, titled, “Raining Poetry,” is a collaboration between City Hall and a nonprofit poetry group called Mass Poetry. The aim of the project is to educate Bostonians about their literary-related history as poets like e.e. Cummings and Sylvia Plath were once counted among its residents.

The poetry currently features work by Langston Hughes, Barbara Helfgott Hyett, and Gary Duehr, though the city plans to introduce more poems. As for environmental concerns, the poems are written with biodegradable spray paint that wears off in six to eight weeks.

What a cute way to spread knowledge and brighten up an otherwise gloomy, rainy day!
