Barack and Michelle Obama have been married for 24 years this October.
In 1989, Michelle Robinson was assigned to mentor summer associate Barack Obama at the Chicago law firm Sidley & Austin.
(She was his boss!! Michelle Obama for President? Sadly, no. ?)
Shortly after their first meeting, they went on their first date.
“We spent the whole day together,” Michelle told the Washington Post. The date sounds like a microcosm of the two would come to represent for all Americans: stewards of the arts and community, enthusiasts of life’s finer pleasures, and passionate about social justice.
They lunched in the courtyard of the Art Institute of Chicago, toured the museum, had a drink on the 99th floor of the John Hancock building, and saw Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing. The rounded out the night with a long walk down Michigan Avenue.

Now, entering their 25th year of marriage, Barack and Michelle Obama still looks almost exactly like they did at their wedding.
