Sofia Vergara’s amazing new bangs are very Jessica Day-inspired
Sofia Vergara is almost as famous for her amazing hair as she is for her impeccable comedic timing and acting prowess. That’s why a shockwave rippled through social media when the Modern Family star posted a photo of newly-cut bangs à la New Girl‘s Jessica Day.
Vergara uploaded a selfie to Instagram showing off her new do, which features a slightly lighter color and blunt, below-the-brow bangs.
"New haircut 😁 gracias !! #kellyklain 💇🏽," she captioned the photo, crediting her hair stylist Kelly Klain for her work.
Her light champagne highlights, which begin around the ear, make for a naturally flattering and summery look that grows out beautifully.
However, Vergara’s modern bangs are definitely the star of her new look.
The look brings to mind New Girl star Zooey Deschanel’s iconic blunt bangs, which walk the perfect line between classic, flirty, and feminine. Though Deschanel’s bangs have varied from super-blunt to gently side-swept over the years, the actress and singer’s strong bang has become synonymous with her character Jessica Day.
And oh, we think Ms. Day would approve of Vergara’s new look.
Striking similarities aside, Vergara posted a second photo to Instagram crediting a very different source of hair inspo: La Chilindrina, a character from the Mexican sitcom El Chavo del Ocho.
No matter where she got the idea, Sofia looks positively stunning.
