This ballet duet to Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me” is heart-crushingly gorgeous
Whenever I hear Sam Smith’s song “Stay With Me,” my heart shatters a little. I mean, how could it not? A song about unrequited love with lyrics like “This ain’t love, it’s clear to see / But darling, stay with me” is bound to pulverize your insides and make you feel some feels, OK? These reasons make the track perfect for an emotional and physically expressive interpretative dance performance.
Southern California’s Helios Dance Theater, obviously agreed with us. They enlisted dancers Princess Mecca Romero and Chris Stanley, and choreographer Laura Gorenstein Miller to translate this beautiful music into beautiful movement. Seriously, this is SUCH a powerful representation of “Stay With Me.” It’s evocative, emotionally fluid, and stunningly melancholic. We highly recommend a tissue a box of tissues when you watch this.
