We’re counting down to the release of the Backstreet Boys documentary

If you haven’t heard, the Backstreet Boys — you know, one of the ’90s boy bands of our DREAMS — has a new documentary coming out in January, Show ‘Em What Your Made Of. When the news was announced, we all probably thought it’d be a pretty good documentary, you know, something to watch when there’s nothing else to watch. I doubt any of us thought it would be a GREAT documentary. Well, the first trailer for the film just dropped and let me tell you, it looks FANTASTIC.

The opening line of the 2 minute trailer proudly sings that Backstreet’s back, alright? Cut to images of throngs of teenage girls screaming at the sight of Nick, Brian, AJ, Howie and Kevin. If you were a teenage girl between the years of 1996 and 2000, you were probably one of those girls in the crowd — I know I most certainly was. But just as quickly as they appeared on the music scene, as they say in the trailer, “it all went away.” For anyone familiar with BSB history, you know the name “Lou Pearlman” and you know that he’s probably the villain of this story. Considering he gets name-dropped in the trailer, it appears he’ll get his own chapter of their story, but don’t worry, we know there’s a happy ending.

Through all of this, one thing is clear: these boys are way more than just friends, they’re brothers. They’ve been together since 1993 and the documentary chronicles their early years, all the way up to the release of their 2013 album, “In A World Like This.” The biggest thing I’m dying to know is, who is Nick not afraid of anymore??

Check out the trailer below, and clear your schedule for January 30th, 2015. You’ve got a date with some boys from Orlando that weekend.
