Bachelor in Paradise will feature the franchise’s first same-sex couple

At the end of the Men Tell All episode of The Bachelorette on Monday night, July 23rd, ABC aired a new promo for Bachelor in Paradise—and folks, we’re in for one drama-filled summer. Aside from the hookups, heartbreak, and “more crying than ever before,” this upcoming sixth season will feature a same-sex couple for the first time in Bachelor history. Yes! It’s finally happening. In the teaser, fan-favorite contestant Demi Burnett is seen passionately kissing another woman from the cast.

"I don't care who sees this," she tells the camera as viewers are shown footage of her and a mystery woman making out on a bed. "I know that I love this girl. I'm just so happy that I found her, and I can definitely picture being with her for the rest of my life."

However, Burnett’s love story might get a little complicated when she’s caught kissing castmate Derek Peth in a hot tub. It’s unclear how this will all play out, but the 24-year-old is later seen tearfully telling the woman, “I just don’t wanna lose you.”

Like us, you must be wondering, Who is the mystery woman? Unfortunately, ABC probably won’t reveal her identity for now, but Burnett did address her sexuality after the BiP teaser was released, simply tweeting, “Spoiler alert: I’m a queer queen.”

Her fellow Bachelor alums quickly showed their support on Twitter.

As did Bachelor Nation, who praised Burnett for coming out as bisexual: false
