Ben Higgins has revealed his post-“Bachelor” plans and it’s not what you’d expect
There are a few well-trodden roads for ex-Bachelor cast members after the final rose. There’s 15 more minutes of fame on Bachelor in Paradise or Bachelor Pad. There are dishy tell-all books. Or there’s going back to being a normal, extremely attractive-looking person who gets recognized in public all the time.
But Ben Higgins, who got engaged to Lauren Bushnell on the last season of The Bachelor, may soon pave a new road: running for a seat in the Colorado House of Representatives as a Republican.
The Colorado Independent reports that the 28-year-old, who lives in Denver, confirmed that he’s considering a run for House District 4 in the Sloan’s Lake area. The man currently holding the State Representative seat, a Democrat, was arrested over St. Patrick’s Day for a DUI.
In a statement, Ben said he and Lauren are still figuring out what their next steps will be, but already has a bare-bones political website up, which reads:
Ben, who is a software salesman, doesn’t have any prior political experience that we know of, but everyone who watched him on Kaitlyn’s season of The Bachelorette and his own season of The Bachelor saw how he’s a friendly, respectful, even-tempered Christian guy who is great with children. And he certainly has the good looks and ability to shake hands and charm the pants off anyone.
In other words, we can TOTALLY see him appealing to a lot of voters … at least in Bachelor Nation.
