This baby totally gets how sad it is to finish a really, really good book

One of the worst feelings in the world is the withdrawal we face after finishing an amazing book.

There’s that moment when you’re clinging on to every word, knowing that the end is nigh (yet, you’re slightly in denial). As you turn the pages, you take a moment to mourn the characters you’re about to lose. “There are other books in the sea,” you remind yourself. “Heck, there are even books about the sea.” But still, nothing can take away the book-ache that’s about to begin. Nothing can prevent you from reaching those inevitable words: The End.

Other people feel these very real feelings too, see?

And then it happens. You close the book. You blink, letting the shock wash over you. “It’s over… It’s really over,” you whisper, trying to accept that your literary journey has come to a close.

But now, thanks to an adorable baby, you can find comfort in knowing that you’re definitely not alone.

YouTube user leesedanielle recently uploaded a video featuring a woman reading to a baby boy. As they get closer and closer to the end of the book, the young boy begins to look concerned. (We feel your pain.) Then, his reading companion delivers the blow. “The end,” she states. The results: an explosion of tears. (Same, my friend. Same.)

Despite the fact that his shirt says “The Snuggle Is Real,” no amount of snuggles can prevent his sadness from happening again…and again…and again. But, who can blame him?

To sum up this devastatingly relatable occurrence, the video’s description reads: “He knows no greater sadness than the end of a book.” A statement that is just way too real.

While we never want to see a baby cry,  at least all you readers out there have someone who understands you.
