This baby elephant running to her human is too adorable to handle
Baby animals are undoubtedly the cutest things in the world. But now baby animals acting like a different kind of baby animal? If it sounds like too much to handle, brace yourself, because that’s exactly what happened recently at the Elephant Nature Park in Thailand.
Meet Kham La, a 6-year old baby elephant who was recently rescued. Kham La thinks that she might be a lil’ puppy dog, or at least she’s got the spirit of one. When she sees tractor driver Darrick, one of the employees on the reserve, she goes running over to him, ears flapping, tail wagging, ready for some cuddle time (or, as much as cuddling as can happen with a thousand pound elephant).
This isn’t just a one-time thing. Every morning, when Darrick starts his rounds on the land to bring food and supplies, Kham La (along with some of her other elephant buddies) goes rushing to him to say hello. Like, they stop whatever they’re doing — rolling in puddles, playing in the mud, doing elephant things — and trot over. Because this elephant and human are besties for life.
And THB, Darrick might have one of the best jobs in the world because he gets to be up close with these elephants, and give them the love they deserve. While you wouldn’t want to find yourself at the bottom of a baby elephant pig pile, a baby elephant charging at you to say good morning is way more amazing anyway. Check out all the cuteness below.
