We could not be more excited about Aziz Ansari’s new Netflix series
As if we needed MORE reasons to love Netflix truly madly and deeply, the streaming-site will soon include a 10-episode half-hour show from Aziz Ansari. Yes, we’re getting an Aziz Ansari comedy show!!! Somebody hit the party button, we need to add this to our growing queue as soon as humanly possible.
The show — still untitled — was co-created by Ansari and Parks and Recreation writer and producer Alan Yang. If that’s not enough Parks and Rec for you, Michael Schur (who co-created Parks!) will be an executive producer. The cast includes some of our favorite funny people as well, like the voice of Archer, H. Jon Benjamin, SNL’s Noel Wells, Bob’s Burgers writer Kelvin Yu, and Eric Wareheim from Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! I’m ready to laugh.
Aside from the fact that it’s a comedy, the only other thing we currently know about the show is that it’s being filmed in New York City, which means it’s probably set in New York City, which means it should probably cross over with our other favorite Netflix comedy, Kimmy Schmidt, right? Right??
There’s no date for the show set, but that’s OK. We’ve got plenty of other Netflix shows to hold us over for the time being, including every episode of Parks and Rec, and Ansari’s two stand up specials.
This is just one of SO many unbelievable gifts that Netflix has brought into our lives as of late. Dare we mention, Fuller House? Also the new season of Orange Is the New Black is nearly upon us. ALSO great movies are being added on the regular. ALSO, maybe this will be just a little consolation for the end of Parks and Rec? Maybe? Maybe.
