Tonight the stars align on the red carpet for the 2018 Grammy Awards. The awards show hold great possibility to either redeem itself or disappoint Rihanna fans. If it’s anything like last year’s Grammys, it will probably do both, maybe all at the same time. Last year, one of the greatest upsets occurred when Rihanna didn’t win any of the eight awards for which she was nominated. So how many Grammys does Rihanna have?

Even though the 2017 Grammys didn’t pan out for the Anti singer, she has won eight Grammys throughout her career. With tonight’s show, she could add to that number, too. Even though she didn’t release a new album in 2017, Rihanna is still nominated for a 2018 Grammy award for Kendrick Lamar’s song, “Loyalty.” Rihanna’s part on that track snagged her a nomination for the Best Rap/Sung Performance at this year’s awards show.

Rihanna’s no stranger to that category, and four of her Grammys came from the category Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. As you could probably guess, those Grammy-winning songs were “Umbrella,” “Run This Town,” “All Of The Lights,” and “The Monster.” Because half of RiRi’s awards came from rap songs that featured the singer’s vocals, the chances that she will win for “Loyalty” seem high.

Even if Rihanna doesn’t win a Grammy at this year’s awards, it’s still an exciting night for the Barbados-born singer.

That’s right, Rihanna will perform at the 2018 Grammys with DJ Khaled and Bryson Tiller.

Of course that means they will be singing “Wild Thoughts.” The “Work” singer was supposed to perform at the 2016 Grammys, but she had to cancel due to bronchitis.

That makes tonight’s performance all the more exciting.

What an exciting night for RiRi and all her many fans. Hopefully she wins Grammy number nine!
