Ed Sheeran just took home the Best Pop Vocal Album for “Divide” and Best Pop Solo Performance for Shape of You at the 60th annual Grammy Awards. However, the Shape of You singer was absent from the 2018 Grammy Awards to receive his awards. So, why isn’t Ed Sheeran at the 2018 Grammys?

Sheeran was up against Coldplay, Lana Del Rey, Imagine Dragons, Kesha, and Lady Gaga in the Best Pop Vocal Album category. In the Best Pop Solo Performance category, Sheeran was up against Kelly Clarkson, Kesha, Lady Gaga, and Pink.

Notably, Justin Bieber also did not attend the award show. Sheeran has been quiet on social media about his Grammys absence, and has not yet made a statement about why he wasn’t in attendance. Sheeran recently got engaged to longtime partner Cherry Seaborn, and he reportedly proposed in December.

Perhaps the Shape of You singer is up to his ears in wedding excitement and couldn’t attend the 2018 Grammys? Twitter reactions to Sheeran’s win were swift, with many pointing out Sheeran being the only male in the category.

Hosted by James Corden, the 2018 Grammy Awards will be held at Madison Square Garden for the first time since 2003. The ceremony will air on CBS at 4:30 p.m.

More to come.
