Don’t worry, ‘Avengers’ fans: Loki (aka Tom Hiddleston) will be back!
The last time we saw Loki was in Thor: The Dark World (warning: major spoilers ahead!), where after faking his own death, he takes on the form of Odin, and totally fools his step-bro Thor. If you’re like me and were really psyched to see the lovable trickster in Avengers: Age of Ultron and then really, really sad when he never made an appearance, don’t fret. We have good news.
According to The Huffington Post, film producer and president of Marvel Kevin Feige confirmed that Tom Hiddleston will be in Ragnarok (the third Thor film), in addition to the last two parts of Avengers: Infinity War. The bad news? It’ll be awhile. Thor: Ragnarok will hit theaters July 28, 2017, part one of Avengers: Infinity is set to premiere May 4, 2018, and part two is scheduled for May 3, 2019. But the best things are worth waiting for, amiright?
So, with Odin’s fate unclear (it’s been stated in interviews that he’s dead, but who knows? He IS Odin after all, aka, god of war, death, wisdom, and poetry —basically all the things) what will Loki be up to in the upcoming movies? According to Comicbookmovie.com, Loki will be up to a lot of mischief in Avengers: Infinity War:
According to MTV, we were thisclose to seeing Loki in Age of Ultron, but unfortunately, the scene didn’t make the cut. “During an appearance on the Empire podcast, [director] Joss Whedon revealed that Loki was set to appear in the second of Thor’s two vision sequences. It would have featured both Idris Elba as Heimdall, as well as Hiddleston’s Loki walking Thor through his dream,” MTV reports. Basically, Loki would have manifested in Thor’s dream, hinting Odin’s fate. But Whedon didn’t think Thor would have made that connection in his sleep.
While that’s a major bummer, at least we know Loki isn’t gone for good (BWAHAHA).
