Fans have uncovered how ‘Avengers 2’ and ‘Big Hero 6’ are totally connected
Avengers: Age of Ultron came out on streaming last Tuesday, so already fans have begun picking every little moment of the movie apart, looking for more Marvel clues and Easter eggs. Now, an Easter egg floating around the Internet for a while has been uncovered once again, and proven to be TRUE. Ultron is connected to another Disney and Marvel movie — Big Hero 6.
A few months ago, Reddit user Kalean posted a theory that suggests that Tony Stark’s other Artificial Intelligence program was titled “Tadashi.” If you remember in Ultron, J.A.R.V.I.S. — the OG AI — is destroyed by Ultron, and Tony has to upload a brand new AI partner, F.R.I.D.A.Y. But while Tony was scrolling through different AI programs to use, we saw a super quick glimpse of a few different ones. It was hard to tell in the theaters what they said, but now that Ultron is out on digital platforms, and we can confirm it for sure. Kalean’s suspicion was true all along: Tony’s got an AI named Tadashi.
How does this connect back to Big Hero 6? If you remember in that movie, the lovable and infinitely-huggable Baymax was created by the brilliant Tadashi Hamada, who was Hiro’s older brother. Big Hero 6 is, itself, a Marvel comic, even though its story was totally revamped for the big screen and given lots of animated Disney touches. But it’s still a Marvel movie.
This doesn’t mean that Ultron and Big Hero 6 are part of the same Marvel Cinematic Universe, though. Right now, they exist in two completely different Marvel universes (even though they both include cameos from San Lee). But, it is a really awesome nod to another Marvel property, and who knows, maybe down the road we will see The Avengers show up to help save San Fransokyo.
