At the D.C. Women’s March, celebrities spoke up about what they are fighting for in this vid
We don’t know about you, but we’re still coming down off the high of this past weekend’s Women’s March on Washington. Celebs as well as normals like us came together to stand up for what’s right, and Wifey.tv was able to get up close and personal with some of our faves stars at the march and talk to them about what it is that they’re fighting for.
And while we all know there’s still a lot of work to be done, it’s been lovely to watch the footage from all the marches and feel united in solidarity with our sisters around the world. It was so inspiring to see women from all walks of life coming together to make our voices heard and form a united front against forces that want to send us back to the 1950s. Regardless of our backgrounds, all of us are under threat when we have a government that seems intent on stripping us of our basic liberties. It doesn’t matter how much money you make or where you live, if we don’t stand up to oppression together, then we will lose the rights we are entitled to as citizens of this country.
One of the wonderful aspects of this march is that it wasn’t just a march AGAINST the Trump administration, (though that was a pretty huge impetus) it was a march FOR our rights, and the rights that we are trying to protect. We were there fighting for our reproductive rights, for healthcare, for immigrants’ rights, for black lives, for native people’s lives, for clean water, for peace, and so, so much more.
Wifey.tv asked the celebrities they met at the march what they are fighting for, and their answers look a lot like ours!
Diane Guerrero
Katy Perry
Evan Rachel Wood
Carrie Brownstein
Uzo Adubo

Dark days are ahead, friends. But there’s so much work we can do to keep us afloat and help find the light in our lives. If you haven’t checked it out already, the official Women’s March website has a wonderful call to action for Trump’s first 100 days. And if you’re a newsletter person, we highly recommend signing up for the ActionNow Newsletter, which provides you with a daily list of things to read, people to call, or places we can donate our time and money.
For now, let’s make sure we listen to each other, lift each other up, and keep our feminism intersectional!
