This astronaut just posted a photo that’s making people believe in aliens
We are not alone!….Maybe? Get out your tinfoil hats and your survival rations, people, because a NASA astronaut has tweeted a picture that some people say links us directly to little green men.
Scott Kelly, a US astronaut who holds the record for most days in space, loves to tweet out photos from his little bungalow in the sky, AKA the International Space Station. On November 15th, Kelly added this beautiful night sky image to his collection.
And wouldn’t you know it, it took exactly two minutes for a sharp-eyed follower to notice something rather unusual.
Yes, the truth is out there, apparently in the upper right hand corner of Kelly’s photograph. A mysterious cigarette-shaped object with lights on either end is visible in the photo, and was soon picked up by UFO enthusiasts.
Scott Waring of the UFO Sightings Daily website was quick to take up the signal, suggesting that perhaps “Scott was trying to hint at the existence of aliens. Message received Scott, and thanks.”
Unfortunately for those who think we’d fare better under alien overlords, official word has not been released that Kelly was in fact intentionally tweeting a photo of a UFO. For one thing, as an accomplished photographer, you’d think he’d frame the image a little better. For another, neither Kelly nor NASA has commented on the UFO.
Other theories to explain the mystery cigarette next to the Space Station include suggestions that it is simply a chunk of space debris nearby, or even a smudge on the window or the camera lens. Theoretical physicist Michio Kaku cited the latter explanation to CBS News. “”Eyewitness accounts are not enough, even a photograph could be a smudge. It could be a reflection off someone’s windshield, or it could be almost anything.”
Kaku also pointed out that since photographs are flimsy proof to begin with, confirmation of alien craft can only really be determined when we can pull a physical object or two off of a UFO. “I don’t care what it is, a pen, a paperweight, anything, so you have bragging rights after you leave the flying saucer, otherwise, you’re empty-handed.”
Drat those pesky scientists, always ruining our fun with a desire for substantial evidence! Even if the photograph turns out to be nothing more than a misleading smudge (or the Space Station failing to quit smoking) keep looking up!
