Ashley Tisdale, Demi Lovato, AND Avril Lavigne are joining forces for a really cool project

If you’ve been dying for new music from your favorite former Disney gals, the wait is (almost!) over. Ashley Tisdale and Demio Lovato — along with their pal Avril Lavigne — recorded a song together, and we’re bursting at the seams waiting to hear it.
The tune, called “Trophy Boy,” will be part of the soundtrack to Disney’s Charming, a forthcoming Cinderella-style story told from the perspective of Prince Charming. With Tisdale and Lovato’s Disney chops, and Lavigne’s early ’00s punk rock sk8er girl vibe, the song is sure to be all kinds of danceable fun.

The musical collab was first announced back in 2015 — right after Disney revealed that Tisdale, Lavigne, and Lovato would star in the movie together. The three singers play lead roles: Lovato is Lenore, a bandit who tries to hoodwink Prince Charming; and Lavigne and Tisdale play two princesses who discover that they, along with a third princess — played by Chinese singer/songwriter G.E.M. — are all engaged to the same guy (Prince Charming!). It’s sure to be fabulously dramatic, and hopefully has a feminist ending! (We can dream, can’t we?)
Other big-name stars are on deck for the movie, which is due out later this year, too. Lovato’s ex-boyfriend, Wilmer Valderrama, plays Prince Charming, while singer/songwriter Sia will lend her voice to the Half-Oracle character, and My Big, Fat, Greek Wedding star Nia Vardalos will also make an appearance.
We’ll let you know as soon as we have more details on “Trophy Boy.” Until then, prepare your inner child to be thrilled in the very near future!
