For too long, the modeling world was a place for only a specific type of girl, but thankfully, that’s starting to change. Because we want to see our fashion modeled on amazing women of all different types. For that reason, we are SO excited to hear that Ashley Graham stars on the cover of British Vogue in January.
We have been huge fans of the stunning and curvy Ashley. Because not only does she bust through stereotypes in the fashion industry, but she speaks her mind about it. Ashely made history earlier this year as the first plus-size model to grace the cover of the Sports Illustrated. Now, she’s breaking new barriers by showing off her curves on the cover of another high-profile magazine.
Ashley Graham will pose on the cover of British Vogue this January, and we can’t wait.
British Vogue’s editor, Alexandra Shulman, has long been outspoken about the impossible standards of “sample sizes.” Alexandra spearheaded an issue of her magazine called “The Real Issue” in November that featured real women, rather than models. She and Ashley seem like a match made in heaven. Both are known for their outspoken opinions on making fashion images more diverse, and we’re all for that.
