Ashley Graham opened up about her bikini anxiety
She may be one of the most gorgeous supermodels on the planet, but even Ashley Graham feels self-conscious in a bathing suit from time to time. The official beginning of summer is right around the corner, so it’s finally time to break out those bathing suits. While we all love hitting the beach or hanging out by the pool, sometimes we feel a little anxious about rocking a bikini — and Graham can *totally* relate.
The supermodel recently opened up to People.com about getting ready for summer and how it’s natural to feel self-conscious sometimes, even if you’re generally pretty confident about your body.
“I mean, of course like any girl when you get to the beach or the pool and you go, ‘Oh, I have to take my cover-up off, crap.’ And you feel like everybody’s watching, and then you just go, ‘Oh fine, I’ll just take it off,’ Graham told the mag. “And then all of a sudden you get comfortable and go, ‘Okay. Another piña colada.’
Girl, same.
Graham also talked to People about bikini bodies and how she doesn’t try to get in shape specifically for summer — instead she tries to keep a consistent diet and exercise routine all year long.
“I try to stay consistent throughout the year, and when I have a heavy week I have meals delivered to my house so that I’m making healthy choices, she said.“But I try not to eat dairy, and I haven’t worked out in a couple weeks but I still feel great.
We totally agree that keeping it consistent is way better than trying to rush into a “perfect” bikini body (whatever that even means) with unhealthy crash dieting.
While it’s super relatable that even supermodels sometimes feel bikini anxiety, this summer, we’re definitely going to try and be less self-conscious about our bodies, and we hope Ashley does too!
