Ashley Benson is making the “clavicle bob” happen, and we’re grabbing our scissors
If you thought that the celebrity bob trend hit its peak when Robert Pattinson wore a version of the cut, Ashley Benson’s hairstylist has something new to show you. Don’t call it a long bob, aka “lob”; Benson chopped off her long, blonde locks into what is being called a “clavicle bob.” Yes, we have questions. And yes, we’re very into it.
The former Pretty Little Liars actress and her celebrity hairstylist Marc Mena both took to Instagram to show off her new bob haircut. For reference, check out Benson’s blonde, beachy hair that she was rocking all summer and that she posted on August 20th.
Now, take a look at her new “clavicle bob,” which is shorter, darker, and moodier for all your fall vibes.
Mena—who also works with Riverdale‘s Madelaine Petsch, Stranger Things‘ Natalia Dyer, and Orange Is the New Black‘s Diane Guerrero—shared another picture of the new look. You can see the bronde color and golden highlights even more clearly.
In the caption, he calls the cut “clavicle bob,” and yes, he’ll explain.
"The actress came to [Mena] requesting a cut that would enhance her natural golden bronde hair color," it says in a press release, according to InStyle. "He gave her a long bob that hits at the clavicle and is slightly longer at the front."
Benson showed off a slightly wavier style of her new cut today, September 10th.
And we’ll just echo Mena in her comments: “Babe that new cut is giving me life.” Same.
