A$AP Rocky’s Under Armour collection will benefit underprivileged kids in a huge way

This man does it all. Not only does he rap, model, act, and produce records, but now A$AP Rocky is partnering with Under Armour on a series of projects that will include the creation of an activewear clothing collection and a “philanthropic community-based program,” according to Women’s Wear Daily.

On Friday, Under Armour confirmed the new collaboration on Instagram, saying separately that the collection will be finalized before the end of the year with a later retail launch date. While we are curious to see how the collection turns out, we’re even more excited about the A$AP x Under Amour partnership because of its promise to help those in need.

As part of the plan, new and existing community centers will either be updated or opened. At these centers, local people will be able to go and “express their creativity through art, fashion, beauty, and sport,” reports WWD.

For A$AP Rocky, a New York native, he says this project is important to him because after growing up in Harlem, he wishes he had spent more time being creative and productive — rather than spending time on the streets. This contribution is his way of helping today’s kids have better access to resources for channeling their creative talents.

"I now have the ability to create a better situation for today’s kids so they can go from school to a safe place to create without boundaries," he told WWD.

This initiative to open and update community centers will initially be focused in Baltimore, Los Angeles, and New York. And for those lucky enough to catch him, A$AP Rocky will be participating at centers as an instructor whenever the artist can manage to fit it into his schedule.
