Ariana Grande got emotional at an unexpected part of a recent “Thank U, Next” performance
On November 7th’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Ariana Grande sang her latest hit, “Thank U, Next.” Obviously, her debut performance was everything we wanted and more (it was inspired by The First Wives Club starring Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn, and Diane Keaton, after all). And just like the lyrics, Grande packed her performance with emotion, even tearing up during the verse where she mentions her mother, Joan Grande.
"One day I'll walk down the aisle/ Holding hands with my mama/ I'll be thanking my dad/ 'Cause she grew from the drama," Grande sang, clearly getting chocked up.
Perhaps the tears were triggered by “One day I’ll walk down the aisle” (Grande did just break off an engagement). Or maybe she was overwhelmed by love and appreciation for her mama. Whatever it was, we, too, are now close to crying.
Grande also almost fell during her Ellen performance as she stepped down off one of the “wedding reception” chairs. Luckily, she totally laughed it off.

Grande keeps proving that God is, in fact, a woman (in a high ponytail, no less).
