The video for Ariana Grande’s “No Tears Left to Cry” has fans feeling *every* single emotion
At midnight, Ariana Grande released “No Tears Left to Cry,” her first single from her upcoming fourth studio album and it’s safe to say it has fans feeling. Feeling what? Literally everything.
Earlier this week, the singer ended her months-long social media hiatus to tease her new music with a single teardrop emoji. The singer then followed up by revealing she had “missed” her fans during her time offline, revealing the title and artwork for “No Tears Left to Cry.” While the singer’s new look teased on the artwork — the platinum locks she debuted last fall and the (*gasp*) low pony — already had fans hyped for the new music, the song itself has them feeling pretty emotional.
While the song opens like a soft ballad, it quickly evolves into a more upbeat, very catchy pop track — but the lyrics are full of emotion. “Right now, I’m in a state of mind / I wanna be in, like, all the time / Ain’t got no tears left to cry / So I’m pickin’ it up, pickin’ it up,” Grande sings during the chorus.
The song is Grande’s first new track since the bombing at Grande’s concert in Manchester, UK, last May that left 22 people dead and injured more than 500. The “Be Alright” singer briefly suspended her tour, organizing and hosting a benefit concert in the city just weeks later.
For many fans, the song — and accompanying music video, which Grande also released at midnight — is a sign of healing, following the horrific event. Grande’s older brother Frankie took to Twitter to share his support for his sister’s new song. He wrote, “Music was made to unite & with this brilliant masterpiece u have done just that. i love u.”
Suffice to say, “No Tears Left to Cry” had fans shook on Twitter:

If these glowing reviews haven’t convinced you that this emotional, catchy song is something you need to be listening to ASAP, give it a listen for yourself anyway — and try not to be caught up by the Inception-like magic of the video.

We can’t wait to see what the rest of Grande’s album brings because we are so ready.
