The “Ariana Grande” Starbucks drink is a real thing now
With a last name like “Grande,” Starbucks jokes are bound to happen. TV-tween-turned-music-megastar Ariana Grande has definitely fielded enough coffee order puns from the Internet to last a lifetime, but this latest bit of news certainly isn’t going to help them die down. Starbucks has officially honored Ari with an “Ariana Grande” Starbucks drink. Yes, that’s right: You can now go to Starbucks and order an “Ariana Grande.”
Although it’s not an official menu item, something tells me that it’s only a matter of time before there is enough demand to merit that. Its creation is the fault of a gutsy Buzzfeed reporter, who casually strolled into Starbucks and asked for an Ariana Grande. Fortunately for caffeinated people everywhere, the unfazed Starbucks crew was all too happy to oblige, promising that they would mix it with “extra everything,” because they “thought Ariana would want it that way.” Accurate: We have seen from her music videos that she is a go big or go home kinda gal.
Wondering what exactly is in this concoction? I was too, and my best guess involved sugar, spice and everything nice (would Ariana Grande not make a perfect Powerpuff Girl?), and it turns out I was almost exactly right. The ingredients used to make the first Ariana Grande drink were the base of the Cotton Candy Frappuccino (vanilla and raspberry, essentially), extra mocha syrup, extra mocha chips, and a topping of whipped cream and caramel drizzle.
While this could easily be a recipe for sugary disaster, the reporter claimed that it tastes like a “DISCO TECHNO CIRCUS PARTY IN MY MOUTH.”
Well, this is enough of a rave review to make us all want to go order our very own Ariana Grandes soon, but until the Internet gives me a picture of Ariana Grande drinking an Ariana Grande, I will be waiting by my laptop screen with baited breath.
