This Ariana Grande song got a cinematic makeover for “Final Fantasy,” and it’s sublime
As if we couldn’t already get enough of Dangerous Woman, Ariana Grande has gone and recorded a special version of album track “Touch It” for Final Fantasy Brave Exvius.
When she’s not being a badass shutting down sexism and objectification or killing it as a real life dangerous woman, Ariana Grande can also be found in video games.
Yep, it was announced this week that Grande would be digitalized in the latest Final Fantasy game. Describing her character as “the cutest thing i’ve ever seen in my entire life [sic],” Grande shared her video game likeness on Instagram, and it’s complete with Dangerous Woman bunny ears (although it seems her signature ponytail is missing).
Now it seems that Ariana has also made a special version of one of her songs to accompany her character in the game.
Previously, the likes of Florence + the Machine and Japanese pop star Utada Hikaru have lent their musical prowess to the games of Square Enix, the developers of Final Fantasy, and now Ariana has joined their hallowed halls.
In a video uploaded to Square Enix’s YouTube channel, it appears that Ariana Grande’s moody banger “Touch It,” taken from her latest album Dangerous Woman, has been given a cinematic and string-fuelled facelift, and it’s so darn epic.

Speaking about the decision to include Ariana’s “Touch It” in the game, producer Nick Wood said that the song was “fantastic pop song,” and explained how they made it even more epic for the game.
"It had to get very exciting, it had to get dynamic, it has to get epic," he said. "So we've hired a 52-piece orchestra, we've programmed some amazing percussion, drums, synths, electronics; we've done a whole hybrid combination of sounds that I think takes the listener on a very interesting journey. I certainly don't think you've heard anything like this from Ariana Grande before.

In a statement release, Ariana said that she was honored for “my Pixel Art character and for my music to be included in the new Final Fantasy Brave Exvius game, a mainstay of Japanese culture, which I absolutely adore.”
Meanwhile, Ariana Grande is set to kick off her “Dangerous Woman Tour” next month. The singer also revealed that the next single taken from her latest album would be the Future-assisted track “Everyday.”
