Ariana Grande just shared the most bittersweet video of Mac Miller
A week after calling off her engagement to SNL star Pete Davidson, Ariana Grande posted a clip of her late ex, Mac Miller, to her Instagram Story. Miller’s sudden death is rumored to be the source of Grande’s recent withdrawal from social media and her break with Davidson (though the star has not confirmed this herself). Sources have also said that Grande is finally letting herself grieve and is taking much-needed time to cope with recent life events.
In the video Grande posted on October 22nd, Miller is seen getting his tuxedo sleeve mended by Grande’s mother, Joan, and grandmother, Nonna, before the 2017 Oscars. An interview with Elton John plays in the background, and Miller jokingly says he should have worn Elton’s outfit. It’s a sweet, seemingly mundane moment from their life together.
The video is one of several tributes Grande has uploaded since Miller’s apparent overdose on September 7th. The day after Miller passed, she posted a captionless black and white photo of the rapper.
A week after her initial post, Grande followed up with another video from their time together.
She wrote in the caption, "i adored you from the day i met you when i was nineteen and i always will. i can’t believe you aren’t here anymore...you were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else. i’m so sorry i couldn’t fix or take your pain away...i hope you’re okay now. rest."
A source told E! News that shortly after Miller’s death Grande, “[felt] like her emotions [were] out of control,” because she had not given herself enough time to process. We’re sending Grande so much love during this difficult time.
