Ariana Grande and John Legend’s “Beauty and the Beast” music video will give you ALL the feels
The tale as old as time with its song as old as rhyme has finally dropped its highly anticipated, all-new music video! As if we weren’t already on pins and needles waiting for the live-action Beauty and the Beastto hit theaters, the folks at Disney just got us even more excited for the flick with this ornate music video. We didn’t think it was possible but, hey, we’ve learned to never underestimate the magical effect of Disney.
With Ariana Grande and John Legend lending their talented pipes to the project, the video paints an elaborate picture of the two serenading each other in Beast’s castle. With a glimmering ballroom dripping with elaborate chandeliers, the scene rivals Versailles’ Hall of Mirrors.
Ariana sweeps across the stage in an extravagant crimson gown, the size of which basically epitomizes voluminous. (Side note: does anyone else think this number channels Rihanna’s cupcake dress here?). With the help of a few whimsical dancers, we soon realize she’s dressed as the enchanted rose and the dancers are her graceful, shedding petals. John, on the other hand, looks like what Beast must’ve looked like pre-curse, with princely threads and a regal Prince Charming air.
In addition to sneaking another peek at Belle’s (aka, Emma Watson’s) waltz with Beast in the film’s most iconic scene, we also catch a glimpse of other lovable characters including Mrs. Potts and Chip.
While we’ve been obsessing over the official Beauty and the Beast movie trailer for some time now, this music video gives us the first in-depth look inside Beast’s castle. And of course, it’s every inch as splendid as we imagined (if not more).
Going back to the classic song itself, the animated film’s original Beauty and the Beast track was originally performed by Céline Dion and Peabo Bryson. If you’re thinking that’s a tough act to follow, then you just read our minds. But if any two musicians could live up to the challenge, it’s most certainly John and Ariana.
Alright, now without further ado check out the full-length music video below!
