Ariana Grande got hit with a lemon while on stage at Coachella, and Twitter is not here for this nonsense

On April 21st, Ariana Grande headlined the last night of Coachella 2019. Her performance was full of high notes (including a surprise appearance by Justin Bieber), but not everything went according to plan. In one of the weirdest moments of the festival, someone threw a lemon at Grande while she was singing.

Yes, you read that right. Somebody (presumably an audience member) decided to lob a citrus fruit at the pop star during her set as she was performing “Right There” and “Break Your Heart Right Back,” according to ET Online. It’s not clear why the lemon-thrower felt the need to do so, or what they were hoping to accomplish, but fortunately, Grande emerged unscathed. In a video clip posted to Twitter, the fruit can be seen bouncing off her shoulder as she struts across the stage.

The moment was unexpected, to say the least, but the show continued without a hitch. Take a look: false

Grande did bring up the incident later though, saying, “that’s ’cause one of y’all threw a lemon at me. Sh*t.”

And while the lemon didn’t hurt Grande, many fans have pointed out that it was still rude.

Others were downright confused.

Billie Eilish’s brother and collaborator, Finneas, also came to Grande’s defense.

Hopefully, Grande’s next live show will be lemon-free. Because she deserves nothing less.
