Ariana Grande revealed another chick flick featured in the “Thank U, Next” video, and you’re gonna freak

Ariana Grande is about to take us down a chick-flick rabbit hole, and we’re 100% here for it. Having already paid homage to 1996’s The First Wives Club with her performance of “Thank U, Next” on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the pop star is now dropping hints all over social media that her No. 1 single’s upcoming music video will have major early-2000s vibes. Fans first began speculating on the theme when they noticed similarities between “Thank U, Next” cover art and the iconic Burn Book from 2004’s Mean Girls (we’d recognize that ransom note font and pink background anywhere). false

To add fuel to the fire, on November 19th, Grande and her two best friends, Alexa Luria and Courtney Chipolone, posted a series of photos to Instagram, captioning each pic with a classic Mean Girls line (“Yeah but she’s my FIRST cousin,” “would u like us to assign someone to butter your muffin?” and “i’m on an all carb diet GOD KAREN U ARE SO STooPID.”)

Grande also uploaded her BFF pics to Twitter, writing, “meet the plastics.”

Then, on November 20th, Grande hinted at some Legally Blonde action via Instagram and Twitter. She first uploaded a picture of herself in an orange tank top with the caption, “whoever said orange was the new pink was seriously disturbed.” Grande tagged the photo at Harvard University (where the famous Elle Woods attended law school, of course).

We also saw Grande in a pink, feathered top posing alongside Jennifer Coolidge, aka Paulette.

(FYI, Ms. Elle Woods, aka Reese Witherspoon, herself responded—with another epic Legally Blonde quote, no less.)

And on November 21st, Grande gifted us with ANOTHER hint about the “Thank U, Next” video, letting fans know that Bring It On will also be featured in the homage.

On the very same day, she ALSO teased us with 13 Going On 30

We simply can’t wait.
