Ariana Grande and Halsey’s supportive text messages to each other will make you say “thank u, bless”

Ariana Grande and Halsey’s friendship will make you say “thank u, next” to every other celebrity friendship you know about at the moment. For context, Grande’s self-love anthem “Thank U, Next” landed the 25-year-old singer her first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100—the first No. 1 for a woman since Adele’s “Hello” in 2015. Meanwhile, Halsey’s “Without Me” landed a No. 1 on iTunes. Grande took to Instagram on Friday, November 16th to share a text exchange with the “Without Me” singer, and they are both lifting each other up, thank you very much.

Check out the supportive text exchange below.

In it, Halsey writes: “Honestly just happy it’s us rn. The ladies need us. Time for an uprising.” She adds, “Attention world: we are no longer taking ur shit.” Grande then replies: “AT ALL.”

Wow, this is such a mood. We stan women supporting women.

Grande released “Thank U, Next” following her highly publicized split from Saturday Night Live actor Pete Davidson in October. The former couple began dating in May 2018 and were briefly engaged. Halsey’s “Without Me” followed her breakup with longtime boyfriend G-Eazy back in July. In an interview with Beats 1 Radio’s Zane Lowe, she credited “Without Me” as her most personal yet. She told Lowe:

“It kind of gave me like an existential crisis as an artist a little bit, because I’ve prided myself on being an artist who’s authentic and writes about her life and all that stuff. And then when I made this and I felt just how bad it hurt."

Two women emerging from heartbreak stronger than ever with chart-topping songs? To that, we will not say “thank u, next” but “thank u, bless.”
