Ariana Grande is celebrating a career milestone with a new group tiny tattoo

We can’t be the only ones who love catching a glimpse of Ariana Grande’s tattoos. By now, she’s racked up nearly 50 tats, but her latest artwork is especially meaningful. Not only is it celebrating an incredible career milestone, but it’s also part of a group tattoo with a few of her friends and collaborators. We have to say, it’s truly the, ahem, little bit of sweetener your day has been missing.

Ariana is wrapping up her nine-month Sweetener World Tour, singing her hits in pretty much every city from Pittsburgh to Paris along the way.

To celebrate the tour’s staggering 101 concert dates, the pop diva got a new tiny tattoo on her hand, which reads “SWT” in black script along the base of her pointer finger.

Three of her friends and collaborators (including producers Tommy Brown and Steven Franks) joined her in getting coordinating tattoos on their hands, with Brown sharing a shot of their new artwork and captioning it “Family Ties.”

Of course, 2019 has been a huge year for Ari. We’re not surprised that she’s commemorating her biggest tour to date with some new ink. It’s a massive accomplishment all the way around, and we love that her latest tat has so much meaning behind it.

The “thank u, next” singer has been celebrating big moments in her career ever since getting her first tattoo back in 2012, a tiny heart on her toe, which paid homage to her debut album, Yours Truly.

In 2015, after she’d begun racking up a serious collection of tats, she got “honeymoon” inked on the inside of her middle finger, in honor of one of her favorite songs, “Honeymoon Avenue,” off the same album. At that time, she’d been on the Honeymoon Tour, making this one especially meaningful.

She also has a tiny bee tattoo on behind her left ear to honor the Manchester bombing victims, a year after 22 fans were killed and dozens more were injured at her concert in the UK city in 2017. The worker bee is a symbol of Manchester, making this a powerful tribute to the city and fans impacted by the terrorist attack.

In 2018, she also got an “R.E.M.” tattoo behind her right ear in honor of one of her favorite songs off sweetener, which fans spotted in the “Breathin’” music video.

She also famously got a tattoo that read “small charcoal grill” in Japanese but was meant to read “7 rings” after another Sweetener single. She ended up fixing the mistake quickly thereafter.

We love the latest ink in her collection and think it makes a perfect addition to all the ones she already has celebrating big moments in her career. We can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store for her, and if there’s any equally gorgeous artwork to be had along the way.
