Ariana Grande had the best and cutest response when her brother told her he was gay
As if we needed another reason to totally love Ariana Grande, the singer’s brother, Frankie, has spoken about how she had the best response when he came out as gay and it’s making our hearts swell a little.
Whether she’s shutting down sexist interview questions, slaying her signature ponytail look, or getting up-close and personal with her BF Mac Miller in a steamy music video, we can’t get enough of Ariana Grande. What’s more, the singer low-key released one of our favorite songs of the year, the transcendent “Into You,” which was harshly snubbed by the Grammys.
Now Ariana Grande’s brother, Frankie, has opened up about when he came out to his sister and the story is so cute and 100% her.
Speaking to the U.K.’s Attitude Magazine, Frankie told how he came out to Ariana when the singer was just 11 years old.
"There’s a 10-year age gap," he explained, "and I came out to her when she was just 11 years old — and she said: 'Great, when do I get to meet your boyfriend?'"
YES ARI!
Expanding further, Frankie said that her reaction was due to the fact that their family were so open about everything.
"She was raised in a family where gay was not only accepted, it was celebrated," he continued. "The fact that some people are in families who throw them out because they’re gay or they’re being told they’re wrong because of who they are, it’s a tragedy and both she and I feel it’s our responsibility to educate those people and help them see that we’re all the same."
Frankie also told how he and his sister were like “yin and yang.”.
“She’s my best friend and probably the person who makes me proudest on this planet,” he said. “I’m so proud of her because she’s someone who at a very young age knew what she wanted to do, pursued it and succeeded to an extent none of us could have foreseen. And she did that herself; she’s not the product of any sort of machine.”
Oh we just love this so much. Not only is it so nice to see family supporting each other, but we love the general ethos that the Grande family have about celebrating each other’s differences. Here’s to more Grande family love-ins very soon!
