Ariana Grande gave an absolutely beautiful performance of “Be Alright” at the March for Our Lives
On March 24th, millions of people all over the world took part in March For Our Lives, calling out the lax gun laws that have made mass shootings a devastating norm in the United States. Organized by the survivors of the Parkland shooting, who’ve pushed to keep the gun control debate in the headlines —taking on the NRA, politicians, and gun enthusiasts attempting to silence them — the rallies drew citizens, politicians, and celebrities alike, all looking to make their voices heard.
In Washington D.C., students and teens from all over the country — from the Parkland organizers themselves to 11-year-old Naomi Wadler, who honored young black girls who “don’t make the front page,” to Martin Luther King Jr.’s granddaughter, Yolanda Renee King — took the stage to talk about the need for gun control. The young activists were joined by a slew of celebrities marching alongside them, with a handful of artists taking the stage to perform for the 500,000 attendees.

Grande, a native of Boca Raton, located just ten miles away from Parkland, closed her performance of the uplifting track with a moving show of gratitude towards the Parkland students who organized the powerful event before ushering the students onstage to join her for a group hug – and a few selfies.
She told the crowd, “This is for these brilliant students here today that are leading this march and for everybody participating. Thank you so much for fighting for change and for love and safety and for our future. I love you all so much.”
