Apple is updating your iPhone, and here’s what it means for you
Apple is known for unleashing epic updates on a pretty regular basis. And apparently, Apple is upgrading millions of iOs devices to a new modern filing system that’s designed to make storage more efficient on our phones (as well as improving our privacy). They’ve been using a system that’s over 30 years old, and yeah, time for some major TLC.
So, look out for the iOs 10.3 update! Game-changer? Maybe not. But an improvement? Definitely.
Organizing and restoring files will be more streamlined. Plus, iOs 10.3 is engineered with encryption as a primary feature, which means that there will be single and multi-key options to encrypt files and keep other people from accessing them. Privacy box: check!
via giphyIf you’ll remember, Apple recently went head-to-head with the FBI in a high-profile phone privacy case (it boiled down to the FBI wanting access to a locked phone). These new updates will allow certain files to be unlocked while keeping the remainder of the content encrypted, which could greatly assist in certain cases.
The update will also lay the groundwork for big things to come. “[It] will help lay some of the foundations for Apple to switch fully over to 64-bit apps only on iOS, something that many believe will happen with iOS 11,” The Verge states.
