Okay, so apparently Madonna is NOT adopting two kids
This morning, the internet went crazy over the news that Madonna was expanding her family, but now the Material Girl has set the record straight. Madonna is not adopting two more children from Malawi. And it’s okay.
The confusion happened when she took a trip to Malawi to fulfill duties concering her Raising Malawi foundation, and this somehow became confused with her petitioning the Malawian government to adopt (we’re shaky on how this happened)
"I am in Malawi to check on the children's hospital in Blantyre and my other work with Raising Malawi, and then heading home. The rumors of an adoption process are untrue," Madonna told Us Weekly.
We’re unsure how this rumor got started, but we’re glad that things are cleared up now. Meanwhile, Madonna is the proud mom of four kids; Mercy and David (who were adopted from Malawi), and Rocco and Lourdes. And oh hey, Mercy just had a milestone! Happy 11th birthday, girl!

As always, we’re in awe of Madonna for her tremendous generosity and concern with the world around her. Malawi is one of the poorest countries in Africa, and the Raising Malawi foundation was set up to provide healthcare, education, and community support to orphans who are living in dire circumstances.
She might not be adopting more kids, but Madonna is making a huge difference in the lives of so many. And we salute her!
