Download this app STAT if you need help finding your polling place to vote
We all know how important the millennial vote can be, especially in a presidential year. It was decisive for President Obama in 2008 and 2012, and the same could be true for Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton or her Republican rival, Donald Trump, this year.
But one of the most frustrating things about trying to get out and vote is actually finding your polling place. With so many voting stations moved off of college campuses and lawmakers implementing other rules to suppress the youth vote, it’s no wonder young people are frustrated.
Thankfully, there’s an app that will resolve at least some of that frustration on Election Day, and you may already have it on your phone. It’s called Moovit, and it’s the top public transportation app in the world.
If you’re not already familiar, the app currently helps users find directions to their favorite places and points them to nearby public transit stations. Now, thanks to a partnership with the nonpartisan voter engagement group Rock the Vote, all you have to do is type “vote” into the search bar on the app and it will show you the easiest way to get to your polling place by public transit, bike-sharing services, or Uber.
Plus, the station-finder screen will show you polling places nearby, so you can get in, vote, and get back to your daily grind as quickly as possible.
This app will be there for you before Election Day, too: It’s set up to remind you when your state’s voter registration deadline is coming up, so you have no excuse not to cast your ballot.
