There’s an app that can solve math problems for you and we WISH it had existed sooner

When we were at school, we all wished there was a magic machine that could not only do all our homework, but could also show us how exactly the specific problem was solved. We can probably all remember (or if you’re still at school you’re living it) those math problems that we’d stare at for what felt like hours (or maybe they were hours) with no clue how to solve them.

Now, before we continue, we must stress that it’s so important to do your homework/actual work without the technology doing it for you otherwise you won’t learn.

Basically, there’s now an app that can solve all your math problems and OMG.

Called Photomaththe app uses your smartphone’s camera to scan and decipher mathematical problems. It can even read handwriting!

Dubbed a “smart camera calculator” the app also includes something called a math keyboard and a calculator.

"Photomath supports arithmetics, integers, fractions, decimal numbers, roots, algebraic expressions, linear equations and inequalities, quadratic equations and inequalities, absolute equations and inequalities, systems of equations, logarithms, trigonometry, exponential and logarithmic functions, derivatives and integrals," a description reads on their website.

Okay, this is SO amazing. Regardless of what you think it means about the state of learning and mathematics, the fact that an app can read an equation and not old solve it but show you HOW it solved it is pretty cool. Yes it’s not the same as learning how to solve it yourself, but for those of us who never had a way with numbers it could certainly help us out with things.

Seriously, look how cool this is.

Again, we don’t condone cheating at school and do believe that if you’re studying maths you should work out the problems yourself. However, we do feel that it’s amazing to see how technology can be used to totally help us out.

You can download Photomath from the App Store or GooglePlay. Best of all, it’s FREE!
