Twitter is clapping back so hard at an unnecessarily mean comment about AOC’s boyfriend
In a since-deleted tweet, one user recently made an incredibly rude comment about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s boyfriend, writing that the web developer and the New York congresswoman represent “all the ambitious and stunning millennial women shackled to boyfriends who look like bin raccoons out there.”
Luckily, Twitter wasn’t here for the “blatantly mean tweet,” so Twitter users did what Twitter users do best—clapped back using humor to make their point and also to call out the absurdity of the initial comment. Posting the text from the now-deleted tweet, people began replacing Roberts’s photo with famous faces.

Others pointed out that “bin raccoons” are actually adorable.
Saying that someone’s boyfriend looks like a “bin raccoon” is a compliment. Bin raccoons are handsome beasts. pic.twitter.com/rSXjjXkJIs

Internet jokes at the expense of someone’s feelings—especially a person who has done nothing to deserve such commentary—are, quite simply, lame. Now let’s try to focus on something that actually matters, like, we don’t know…AOC’s actual policies and platforms?
