Ansel Elgort stars in Dua Lipa’s new video and it’s totally your next moody musical obsession
We can’t get enough of rising British singer Dua Lipa and her infectious pop songs.
While we’ve been crushing HARD on her music for, like, a year, the singer has shared the new video for stand out track “Be The One” and it features Ansel Elgort *swoon*.
Elgort, who joined Prada as the face of their latest men’s fragrance, is no stranger to the music world. In fact, earlier this year the actor released his debut single as an EDM producer, and we *totally* thought he looked like a pop-punk band member at this year’s MTV VMAs.
Now the 22-year-old has joined Dua Lipa in the video for “Be The One” and it’s moody AF.

For those unfamiliar with Dua she’s a 21-year-old is a British singer hailing from Kosovo whose music has been making quite the splash across the pond. The singer, who recently got off a U.S. tour with YouTube sensation Troye Sivan, is signed to the same management company as Lana Del Rey and has so far notched up millions of streams on Spotify and YouTube. Basically, she’s going to be HUGE.

While initially released last year, “Be The One” has been chosen as the next single from Dua’s upcoming self-titled debut album, which is due for release next year. So far, the song has been streamed 90 million times on YouTube and 60 million times on Spotify. It’s also so catchy that you’ll be singing it for DAYS.
The new video for the track is suitably dark and totally mesmerizing.
The clip sees Ansel Elgort play Dua’s love interest in a relationship that’s gone sour. Directed by Daniel Kaufman, the video also has a totally intergalactic, sci-fi vibe, too, with a giant LED lit up car landing on earth. It’s all pretty stunning, tbh (if a little dark and moody).

Earlier this year, Dua Lipa made her U.S. TV debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where she performed her hit “Hotter Than Hell.” Similarly, the star also recently appeared on The Today Show where she gave a rendition of her single “Blow Your Mind (Mwah).”
