McDonald’s is teaming up with iconic fashion designer Anna Sui on its coolest collab yet
Say what you will about its food, but McDonald’s will forever be an international staple of tasty, delicious treats — and while we’re used to seeing them team up with films and creating Happy Meal toys of our fave characters, we’re utterly surprised to see them partnering with an iconic fashion designer on an exciting new collab. McDonald’s and designer Anna Sui are celebrating the Lunar New Year with the release of limited-edition Lucky Red Envelopes.
These Year of the Dog envelopes feature original designs by Anna Sui and will be available for a lucky few in San Francisco this coming Tuesday, January 23rd. For those of us residing in the rest of the country, partnering influencers will be running national sweepstakes for a chance to get one of these coveted red envelopes.
The collaboration is in celebration not only of the Lunar New Year, but of the launch of McDonald’s new $1, $2, and $3 Dollar Menu.
If you do happen to be in San Francisco, here’s what you have to do: head on over to Japantown’s Peace Plaza where McDonald’s will be unveiling a $1, $2, and $3 dollar menu-inspired arcade game that incorporates Anna Sui’s designs. Anyone who plays will receive a red envelope and have the chance to win additional prizes.
Even if you can’t make it to this particular celebration, you’ll be pleased to know that the $1, $2, $3 Dollar Menu is now available nationwide at McDonald’s and features breakfast, burger, and chicken options depending on what your preference may be.
