Anna Paquin is serving some serious glam-goth vibes on the red carpet
At the premiere screening for the upcoming Roots remake, Anna Paquin wore a gown that looked straight out of her old HBO vampire series, True Blood. While the stunning dress featured shiny sequins and a diamond belt buckle, its sheer paneling was totally goth. To top off this darkness glam, Anna kept her makeup pretty simple — a smoky eye and a nude lip. She’s come a long way since She’s All That!

In Roots, which tells the story of a man named Kunta Kinte who was captured into slavery, Anna plays Nancy Holt, the fiancé of a Confederate officer. According to PeopleStyle, the miniseries airs for four nights on History Channel, A&E, and Lifetime, starting May 30th. Roots also stars Laurence Fishburne, Forest Whitaker, Anika Noni Rose, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, and Tip “T.I.” Harris.
