Anna Kendrick and Stephen Colbert sang an adorable impromptu duet

When Anna Kendrick stopped by The Late Show on Thursday night, she didn’t actually have anything to promote. Without an agenda, she and Stephen Colbert simply hung out and talked about their favorite things: Lord of the Rings and musicals.

We already know Anna Kendrick is super talented from her performances in the Pitch Perfect movies and Into the Woods. However, she and Stephen talked about how her start in the industry was actually on Broadway, and how they both grew up loving Stephen Sondheim.

Naturally, they both had the same thought: why not sing a little something together? With the help of the Late Show band, the two sang a few lines from “Falling in Love is Wonderful” from “Annie Get Your Gun” and completely melted our hearts with their amazing voices.

It was a short but beautiful moment. The next time Anna appears in a musical, we think we’ve found her perfect co-star.
