Anna Kendrick says she’s a “psycho” about this clothing quirk

If you’ve ever thought to yourself, “I wonder how Anna Kendrick feels about black socks…” – we’ve got you covered! Okay, so maybe you didn’t wonder that before, but Anna’s feelings on plain black socks are still pretty fascinating.

Now, there are as many different kinds of socks as there are different kinds of people. There are plain white socks, if you’re feeling traditional. All-black socks, if you want to add a little sophistication to your shoe routine. There are bright, colorful socks and socks that come in amazing prints if you want to show off your personality in a big way…or, if you happen to share Anna Kendrick’s quirk.

“I’m a big fan of cute printed socks and underwear,” she told Cosmopolitan. “I was like, ‘Do I have to get all black socks and black underwear now?’ But no.”

Why is Anna suddenly worried that she needs to turn in her plethora of printed socks and undies for something more conservative? Well, it all has to do with the fact that she recently turned 30. The Pitch Perfect star isn’t worried about wrinkles or weight gain or any of the common tropes associated with aging (which is a great thing — more of that in the world, please). Nope, she’s worried about aging out of the socks that she loves, because that, she says, would make her “psycho.”

“I’ve got this really crazy thing where I feel like if I had all black socks, I would not put the sock with its original pair and I’d be able to feel how much I’d worn them,” Anna explains. She then points to herself and adds, “Crazy. Psycho b*tch. That has happened to me before [where I had socks that were worn and washed different amounts] and it bothered me so much that I was like, I’m going to get all printed socks so they’re always with the original pair.”

So… Anna is kind of a genius. I mean, who doesn’t like their socks to look and feel the same? Plus, this method not only makes you feel more put together, it also makes life more fun.

Plus, with printed socks, you totally get to play favorites. “I have a pair of socks that is two halves of a boxer puppy’s face,” she states. Okay – now that is really cute! (Also, where can we get a pair?)

Even though Anna is worried about her sock situation, there are some fashion trends she’s actually happy and ready to age out of. “I’m glad that I know that I’m too old to wear overalls,” she reveals. “It’s super cute on hipsters in their 20s. I’m so glad that when I wore overalls, I was in preschool and now I don’t have to wear them. It genuinely looks dope as hell on girls that wear them, but I would just be a nightmare in a pair of overalls.”
