Anna Faris openly discusses her son’s health problems

Is there anything we don’t love about Anna Faris? Besides the fact that she’s hilarious, she’s also candid and open about her relationships, her life, and her struggles. And thanks to her new book, Unqualified, we get to learn even more intimate details about Anna and her family.

In Anna’s memoir, we learn about a difficult time she and Chris Pratt had to face together: not knowing if their son was going to be developmentally disabled.

Anna reveals what it was like to find out that her son, who was born premature, had bleeding in his brain.

According to Entertainment Weekly, in her memoir, Anna says,

“The pediatric neurosurgeon sat Chris and me down to tell us that Jack had some severe brain bleeding and there was a chance that he could be developmentally disabled. I was in complete shock...So Chris and I did what we could, which was hold hands and hope and face it together."

And that’s exactly what the two did; they relied on one another for emotional support to get through this trying time. But the hardest part came next, when Jack was poked and prodded and tested for weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit. Anna explains that it was this difficult situation that helped her and Chris become closer. And thankfully, Jack grew up to be okay.

Now a healthy five-year-old, Jack only has slight issues with his vision and leg muscles. We’re so glad that he’s okay and that he has a mom and dad who love him so much.
