Anna Camp Got Coronavirus After Not Wearing a Mask “One Time”
The 'Pitch Perfect' star is opening up about her scary symptoms.

Yesterday, July 21st, Pitch Perfect star Anna Camp took to Instagram to alert her followers that she tested positive for and suffered through coronavirus (COVID-19) several weeks ago. Luckily, she has since tested negative, but she wants to drive home the fact that she contracted the virus after going out in public without a mask only one time.
“Hi friends…I felt it was my responsibility to share that I ended up getting Covid-19,” Camp shared on Instagram. “I have since tested negative, but I was extremely sick for over three weeks and still have lingering symptoms. I was incredibly safe. I wore a mask. I used hand sanitizer.”
She believes that she contracted COVID-19 the single time went out without wearing her mask after cities began reopening in the U.S.
Camp wrote, “One time, when the world was starting to open up, I decided to forgo wearing my mask in public. One. Time. And I ended up getting it.”
Camp noted that she lost her sense of smell and taste, one of the strange side effects associated with the virus, and is still only smelling about 30% of what she used to. She also still experiences “dizziness, extreme fatigue, impacted sinuses, upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, and fever,” a month after having the virus.
“People are saying it’s like having the flu, but I’ve had the flu, and this is absolutely not that,” Campt wrote. “The panic of contracting a virus that is basically untreatable and is so new that no one knows the long term irreparable damage it does to your immune system is unbelievably stressful.”
She wrote that “wearing a mask is saving lives” and asked those reading her post to do their part and put the mask on before leaving the house. “Even though it’s a little thing, it can have a huge impact, and it’s so incredibly easy to do,” she wrote.
“I’m lucky. Because I didn’t die. But people are,” she wrote. “Please wear ur mask. It can happen any time. And it can happen to anyone. Even that one time you feel safe.”
It’s not just a little thing with a huge impact—it’s an easy thing that could help slow and bring an end to this deadly global pandemic. Step up and save others.
