Ann Coulter just called immigrant children in detention centers “child actors,” and Twitter is justifiably livid
As children are being torn from their parents at the U.S. border with Mexico, political figures, the ACLU, and even former first lady Laura Bush have disavowed the new, inhumane immigration protocol. But several conservatives have rushed to defend the new “zero-tolerance” policy. One such Trump ally, Ann Coulter, even went so far as to suggest that the children featured in articles about the issue are “child actors.”
TheHill.com reports that in a June 17th appearance on The Next Revolution with Steve Hilton on Fox News,Coulter urged President Donald Trump not to fall for “these child actors weeping and crying on all the other networks 24/7 right now.”
Coulter claimed to have read an article in the New Yorker detailing how the children filmed at the border were allegedly acting.
"A New Yorker article, the New Yorker is not a conservative publication, they describe how these kids, these kids are being coached," she said, addressing Trump. "They’re given scripts to read by liberals, according to the New Yorker. Don’t fall for the actor children."
News magazine The Week noted that, after a search of the New Yorker’s database, they had not found any articles matching Coulter’s description.
She actually did it.

Conservative conspiracy theorists have been using the idea of “crisis actors” to discredit the media and liberal causes for years (Twitter trolls recently accused Parkland school-shooting survivor David Hogg of being a crisis actor because of his outspoken gun control advocacy). Coulter’s remarks are only the latest example of conservative pundits attempting to discredit the media.
When she's home alone at night, do you think she keeps the human-skin suit on, or does she prefer to relax in her natural, lizard-alien-from-"V" state?

Ann Coulter, sitting on her throne of privilege, says that asylum-seeking kids are “child actors.” Seems to be a pretty common term thrown around lately…
It is revolting to see a person dismiss someone else’s pain as “fake.” I sincerely hope Ann finds her morals one day.

It should go without saying that the innocent, defenseless children of asylum-seekers are not actors, but since people like Coulter insist on perpetuating this dangerous lie, we feel obligated to refute it. The separation and detention of children at the border is an appalling reality, and it needs to end.
