Angelina Jolie is the new face of Guerlain’s fragrance for women, and she’s donating her salary to charity

Many of the most high-profile perfume companies rely on the charisma and platform of a stylish spokeswoman that people will want to emulate. So with that in mind, it makes sense that Angelina Jolie is the new face of Guerlain perfume. We’re hoping her foray into this campaign will be speckled with hints of Lara Croft because the world could use a perfume that smells like archaeology and female protagonists.

The details of the perfume and brand partnership are still emerging, but we DO know that the perfume will be named Mon Guerlain, which translates to “My Guerlain,” so you can name it whatever you prefer or feel like. We also know that it launches in March!

Based on the name and fact that Jolie is the spokeswoman, there are a lot of possible directions this perfume campaign could move in.

Right now, we’re getting elusive vibes.

Guerlain shared the inspiration for the upcoming scent in a press release sent to HelloGiggles:

"The partnership between Angelina and Guerlain was agreed in Cambodia in December 2015, where she was directing her film First They Killed My Father. It has its roots, however, in Angelina’s childhood memory of her own mother’s love of a Guerlain powder. Angelina Jolie is a filmmaker, Special Envoy of the UN Refugee Agency and co-founder of the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative. She has donated her entire salary from the Guerlain campaign to charity."

We’re both refreshed by the origin story, and glad to hear the proceeds will be donated to charity.

We’re excited for March to arrive, so Mon Guerlain can reach full bloom.
