Andy Samberg opened up about being a dad after secretly welcoming a baby girl last month
Any new parent can tell you that once your baby arrives, sleep is off the table. New dad Andy Samberg is learning these fundamental truths of parenthood after welcoming his daughter into the world last month. Samberg opened up to UsMagazine.comabout being a father during the Fall Fox Party in West Hollywood last night.
"She’s not crying all the time. That’s nice," the Brooklyn Nine-Nine star joked after being asked if he had any crazy parenting stories yet. "I feel like everyone gets peed on. I don’t have a crazy one. I’d have to mine my mind. I’m too sleepy for remembering memories."
He told the publication that so far, even with the lack of sleep, everything is “going wonderfully.”
Samberg and wife, musician Joanna Newsom, kept their pregnancy and delivery under wraps and out of the public eye. Right after the baby arrived, the couple celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary, so a lot of good things have been happening in the Samberg-Newsom household recently.
The couple hinted here and there during interviews that children would be a welcome addition to their lives. Newsom told Larry King in 2015 that a “little harpist Samberg” is a funny image — but a future with kids was a definite for her. Samberg said in a 2016 interview that he would also love a baby someday.
And it looks like they got their wish!
The couple continues to keep their personal life private, and we totally respect that. We once again send our congratulations and wish them the best of luck in getting a full eight hours sleep in the near future.
