Andy Samberg is hosting the 2015 Emmys, so yay!

Award season may have just ended, but we’ve got some news worth celebrating! Andy Samberg will be hosting the 67th Primetime Emmys! Huzzah!

The past couple years have seen some amazing hosts. Seth Meyers, Neil Patrick Harris, Jimmy Kimmel, Jane Lynch — all people we totally love. But Andy Samberg’s particular brand of humor will be something totally fresh and we are so excited!

“Buckle your seat belts, Emmy viewers!” Samberg said of the announcement. “Like, in general you should buckle your seat belts in your car. In fact, even if you’re not an Emmy viewer, you should buckle your seat belt. It can be dangerous on the road. Also, if you’re not an Emmy viewer, you should strongly consider becoming one this year, because I’m hosting, and it’s gonna be a wild ride. So buckle your seat belts.”

Samberg won an Emmy for the ‘SNL’ tune ‘D-ck In A Box’, and his return to the stage will hopefully include some surprises. Paging Justin Timberlake.

I’m particularly banking on a new Lonely Island performance during the show, because seeing the guys together at the Oscars was amazing! Now comes the cold hard truth: we’ll have to wait until September 20th to see what Samberg has planned. Hey Emmys, why you gotta be so far away?
